Advancing Singapore-Australia Space Cooperation

NSAS's visit to Australia from 20 - 22 July

NSAS visited Adelaide from 20–22 July for the inaugural Australia-Singapore Senior Officials' Space Dialogue (ASSD) with the Australian Space Agency (ASA), and participated in the Australian Space Forum (ASF) organised by the Andy Thomas Space Foundation.

The inaugural ASSD marks an important milestone in advancing bilateral space cooperation under the Singapore-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) 2.0. During the Dialogue, both agencies shared updates on our respective space capabilities and ecosystems, and explored opportunities to deepen collaboration in:

  1. Space Situational Awareness

  2. Earth observation and geospatial analytics

  3. Pro-business regulatory practices

  4. Regional and multilateral cooperation

These discussions reaffirmed our shared commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and advancing the peaceful, safe and sustainable use of outer space. We extend our sincere appreciation to Enrico Palermo and the Australian Space Agency team for their warm welcome and gracious hospitality during our visit.

At the Australian Space Forum, Chief Executive Ngiam Le Na delivered a keynote on how countries across the region can work together to harness space for societal benefit, drive economic growth, and ensure space remains a safe and sustainable domain for future generations.

Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Technology Officer Desmond Lim also joined the panel discussion, "Charting the Region's Space Future: Insights from International Agencies," where international space leaders exchanged perspectives on regional collaboration and the evolving space landscape.

We also valued the opportunity to connect with government agencies, industry leaders, researchers and international partners throughout the Forum. These conversations reinforced our shared vision for a vibrant and collaborative regional space ecosystem.

Building on the momentum from Adelaide, NSAS looks forward to working closely with our Australian counterparts to translate our shared ambitions into meaningful cooperation.
