Singapore and Japan Deepen Space Cooperation
The National Space Agency of Singapore (NSAS) and the @Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC), marking the first bilateral space agency agreement between Singapore and Japan.
The MOC implements the commitment by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi to deepen space cooperation under the Singapore–Japan Strategic Partnership as both countries commemorate 60 years of diplomatic relations (SJ60).
Under the MOC, NSAS and JAXA will exchange information and explore opportunities for cooperation in areas such as space technology development and applications, space science and exploration, industry development, education and outreach, as well as policy and regulatory exchanges on the safe and sustainable use of the orbital environment.
Alongside the MOC, NSAS and JAXA also exchanged letters under JAXA's Co-funded Business Promotion Framework (CBPF), creating new opportunities for collaboration between Singaporean and Japanese companies.
Together, these milestones reflect the growing partnership between Singapore and Japan in advancing innovation, industry and the peaceful uses of outer space.
