Singapore and India Sign MOU on Space Cooperation
OSTIn and IN-SPACe have signed an MOU on Promoting Collaboration in the Space Sector. This significant agreement was concluded on 4 September 2025, and witnessed by Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and India Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Both countries will promote joint collaboration in the space sector, including between IN-SPACe and OSTIn and both countries’ space industries; in space policy and law; and in research and development activities in areas of mutual interest such as Earth observation and satellite communication technologies and applications. This was affirmed in the Joint Statement of the Roadmap for the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) between Singapore and India, which was adopted by Prime Minister Wong and Prime Minister Modi. The CSP will set the vision and direction for the next phase of bilateral relations and deepen cooperation in a number of important areas, including space.
Prime Minister Wong said, “To date, more than 20 Singapore-made satellites have been launched by India. Through the MOU on promoting collaboration in the space sector, we will broaden this partnership and push the boundaries of what we can achieve together.”
OSTIn also held fruitful meetings with IN-SPACe as part of our visit to India, and we are delighted to affirm our mutual commitment to translate the agreement into impactful collaborations.
2025 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries. OSTIn extends our heartfelt thanks to IN-SPACe and our space partners in India, and we look forward to working closely together to further boost our relationship.
